We had a blast of a night just before Christmas at theWorkman’s Bar at our end of the year fund raising gig.

Wonderful performances from the musicians like DJ Don Rosco, Kaleidoscope collective (They live in Mosney DP centre) they are absolutely brilliant, we also were blessed to have Yankari band, great guys, finally our own MASI DJ Leslie Goldfinger, wonderful play brother. We were also blessed to have the great Clara Rose Thornton doing her spoken word and MC for the night.

The attendance was out of this world, we thank each and everyone of you for coming, we thank those that could not make it but still contributed by purchasing online tickets for our members from DP centres.

We thank all the sponsors who supported us in many different ways for this event, from transport to prices for the ruffle, you know who are the list is too long honestly, you just showed how to respond to make a difference in our society.

That’s to the organising team who spend weeks putting every detail together, without you we couldn’t have made it. The volunteers did their part on the night, thank you guys.

It’s been a hectic year for everyone in the struggle, let’s all sit back now relax and charge our batteries so that we come back stronger next year and continue the work.

Let’s make 2019 a better year for all of us especially those still trapped in direct provision centres as well as the homeless.
Quote of the night, “If you remain silent, they’ll kill you and say you enjoyed it”. (Zora Neale Hurston)
